Bin Khadem elaborates remote work for government female employees

04 September, 2020

This is in accordance with the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council regarding the granting of a week-long exceptional leave to female employees who have children in ninth grade and below, provided that the remote work system is applied as of the following week, coinciding with the start of the school year.

He added that the school stage is for children from kindergarten to the ninth grade, and that work is remote, according to the approved remote school schedule, and during school hours; and that the mother’s work is included in the list of jobs that can be remotely done, in a manner that does not affect the workflow of the government agency.

Bin Khadem said: "The competent government authority may allow remote work for those with special cases - employees who do not have anyone to follow up and take care of their children's studies during the days of distance learning, in accordance with the approved school lessons schedule.”

He explained that the female employees must submit the “To Whom It May Concern” distance learning certificate to the SHRD’s Support Services Department after approval, via https://dhr.gov.ae/ar/e-services/online-school-parents.

SHRD’ Chairman stressed that the Emirate of Sharjah is working under the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the close follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, adopting all initiatives and decisions supporting all family members in all walks of life, especially the working mother and children, establishing its plans for human development by placing women on its list of priorities, to enhance their presence and support in performing their duties in all her roles in life.

Bin Khadem added that this decision enables the mother employee to make balance between her family life and her professional life, follow-up her children under the conditions of distance learning, and to perform her duties at work by employing technology and modern technical means to support her participation in government work and enhance her role in sustainable development.
